Die Tsugaru-StraΓe (jap. ζ΄₯軽桷峑 Tsugaru-kaikyΕ) ist eine Meerenge zwischen den Inseln HonshΕ« und HokkaidΕ im Norden Japans. Sie verbindet das Japanische Meer mit dem Pazifik. Name
Die Tsugaru-StraΓe wurde nach dem Kreis Tsugaru benannt, der frΓΌher den gesamten Nordwesten der heutigen PrΓ€fektur Aomori umfasste und heute der Name von mehreren Nachfolgelandkreisen und einer Stadt ist. Ein frΓΌherer Name ist Meerenge von Sangar.cite-ref-2[2] FΓΌr EuropΓ€er wurde diese durch Adam Johann von Krusenstern im 18. Jahrhundert erforscht.

Der Seikan-Tunnel passiert die Meerenge an der mit 19,5 km schmalsten Stelle zwischen Tappi Misaki auf der Tsugaru-Halbinsel in der PrΓ€fektur Aomori auf Honshu und Shirakami Misaki auf der Matsumae-Halbinsel der Oshima-Halbinsel auf Hokkaido.cite-ref-kotobank-1-1[1] Die frΓΌher ΓΌbliche FΓ€hrpassage wurde durch den Tunnel als Transportmittel stark zurΓΌckgedrΓ€ngt.
